Hotel Front Desk Attendant - Evening Shift

Location: Blacksburg, VA 24060
Schedule: Afternoon Shift 3PM - 11PM, including weekends and holidays as scheduled
Employment Type: Part-Time to Full-Time
Pay: $14.00 /hr.

Position Summary


[Hotel Name] is seeking a friendly, dependable Evening Front Desk Attendant to welcome guests and support hotel operations during the evening shift. The ideal candidate provides excellent customer service, stays organized during busy periods, and handles guest concerns professionally.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and complete check-ins and check-outs accurately.
• Manage reservations, room assignments, cancellations, and guest account updates.
• Answer phone calls and respond to questions about hotel amenities, policies, and local attractions.
• Process payments and maintain accurate cash and transaction records.
• Address guest requests and concerns promptly, escalating issues to management when needed.
• Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance to resolve room-related issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk and lobby.
• Follow hotel procedures for guest privacy, key issuance, security, and emergencies.
• Document shift activity, unresolved concerns, and important information for the next shift.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Dependability, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn hotel reservation software.
• Ability to handle payments accurately and protect confidential guest information.
• Ability to work independently and remain calm when resolving problems.
• Availability to work scheduled evening shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Previous hotel, front desk, retail, or customer service experience preferred.

Work Environment


This role involves working at the front desk, standing or sitting for portions of the shift, and moving throughout guest service areas. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to perform essential job duties.
