Senior Accountant -

Location: Chicago, IL

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage general accounting activities, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, hands-on accounting experience, and proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
\n
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and support month-end closing activities.
\n
• Perform bank, general ledger, and other account reconciliations.
\n
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial variance analysis.
\n
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
\n
• Review accounts payable transactions and ensure compliance with the three-way matching process.
\n
• Process vendor payments and resolve discrepancies in vendor accounts.
\n
• Record customer payments, reconcile credit card transactions, and resolve accounts receivable issues.
\n
• Follow up on overdue customer payments and maintain accurate financial records.
\n
• Utilize accounting software and ERP systems to manage financial data.
\n
• Collaborate with the CFO and cross-functional teams to support financial operations and business objectives.
\n
• Handle confidential financial information with accuracy and professionalism.
\n

Required Qualifications

\n
• Extensive experience in accounting, financial reporting, and general ledger management.
\n
• Strong knowledge of month-end closing, reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
\n
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and audit support.
\n
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
\n
• Experience with MAS 90 / Sage 100 preferred.
\n
• Familiarity with Crystal Reports is an advantage.
\n
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
